Herne the Hunter Statue

Herne the hunter is an Ancient forest lord associated with the Windsor Forest. He is revered as the protector of the trees, and known in Celtic mythology as the God of nature, fertility, life, and animals. The earliest mentions of Herne comes from Shakespeare's The Merry Wives of Windsor written in 1597.  He is associated with Cernunnos, the Celtic God of fertility, life, animals, wealth and the underworld.

Depicted here with his crown of antlers, he sits atop the stump of an oak tree. He regally holds a spiraling staff as he surveys the woods before him. His piercing eyes command the attention of the wood folk. This hand painted statue also incorporates intricate detail in the forest floor which is covered in leafs, pebbles and the body of a serpent. The Serpent represents the Underworld and reincarnation.

This piece will add strength and power to any altar and nature based worship.
